Actor Elijah Knight

Cinema

For a month, it looked like Swiss actor Elijah Knight was switching careers, judging by his Kung-Fu videos in the Shaolin Temple of Yunnan, China. “This is the opposite of a career change”, reassured Knight, “spending one month with Shaolin Monks is my way of elevating my acting game. The craft is deeply physical and spiritual, and Kung-Fu helps you get there”.

The experience was anything but easy: 1 month, 7 hours of training a day, total silence at mealtimes and a strict curfew – not to mention routinely getting beat in the stomach with a stick. The latter, ironically, seems to be Knight’s idea of fun: “I’m not a masochist but I do believe in “No Pain, No Gain, No Kungfu” and the same goes for the craft of acting. One needs a certain degree of inner conflict to create compelling characters and stories”.

The actor hopes that this training will give him an edge when auditioning for physical roles. “Just the other day, I had an audition for a Word War II movie and they wanted someone with martial arts and weapons training”. After having played numerous police officers and soldiers in films and shows such as the upcoming Paramount+ series “Miss Fallaci”, the Swiss actor intends to book a lead role in an action-packed feature or series, a goal that can only be reached with a warrior philosophy. “In this career, one must keep moving forward just like a warrior connected to his inner CHI. No matter the circumstances, no matter the adversity, the Warrior Actor keeps moving forward, one step - or Kungfu Kick at a time”.

Elijah Knight's Corporate film Sustainability shot for the Swiss Post office just premiered in the capital of Swiss film, Locarno, on the 13th of September 2024. Meanwhile, the short film  Welcome to London, directed by Martin David Edwards in London in July 2024 has been fully edited and is now being sent to film festivals across the globe. Knight and one of his best friends, Luke Lindemann, play the male leads in the film. Other recent projects include back-to-back horror short films: Detox Inn shot in Engadin Graubünden, directed by Andreas Elsener and Dracula, Son of the Devil, for which the young Swiss actor recently won Best Supporting Actor at the Best International Film Festival. The Miss Fallaci TV series with Elijah as Neil will be presented at the Rome Film Festival in October 2024: Knight plays a US Army soldier in World War II. The series is based on the life of writer Oriana Fallaci, starring Miriam Leone.
