Stephen Chbosky is an amazing Director to work with! He has a clear vision for how he wants the movie to turn out but he also gives the Actors a lot of freedom. He asked us to do a lot of improvisation for the scene. Between takes, he would tell us what improvisations worked for the scene and then he would tell us which moments to focus on and make clearer for the audience.
