During the second season, your character, Evangeline Murphy, changes her attitude dramatically. Why?
When we first meet Evie, she is young. She is a teenager. She’s blessed to have a good life and supportive parents and opportunities, but she is covering up a dark pain. And, although she seems she has it all together and is mature for her age, she is still a teenager, so her hormones are running high and she’s still trying to figure out who she is. I think that’s part of the reason she made such a 180 flip - because she’s still finding her own voice, and because she met Meg at just the right moment, when she was the perfect amount of confused and impressionable that every word Meg uttered was the right kind of enticing. Evie felt that Meg saw her and understood her, when that’s what she wanted most. That was enough.
