Q. In the TV series Hit the Floor you play Kyle Hart. Can you tell us about your character?

A. I like to call her “Southern Fried Sex on Legs”. She was a stripper, then became a Los Angeles Devil Girl dancer and now Kyle is the Captain of the Devil Girls. She is willing to do anything to get ahead in life and uses her Southern Sass to get whatever she wants.

Q. Kyle Hart is a strong-willed character. What do you like most about her?

A. I love Kyle’s undeniable ambition and drive. Although she uses her sexuality to get what she wants she is also ‘dumb like a fox.’ If you know this southern slang, you know that this means she is as sly and smart as they come. But, off the court she has had to deal with love, death and money troubles. No matter what, Kyle always keeps a positive attitude and is constantly reaching for the top.

Q. Sports dramas are not very common, still the series has been successful. In your opinion, for what reason?

A. I believe that ‘Hit the Floor’ is successful because of several reasons. The dancing for one is a huge part of the show and there aren’t many scripted shows that have a dynamic dance in every episode. The writing, characters, basketball, drama and cliffhangers leave the audience wanting more each week. There is never a dull moment in Devils Nation.

Q. The series is in its fourth season. Where does filming take place?

A. Since the series takes place in Los Angeles we are lucky enough to film in LA. We are able to utilize many famous locations. For instance, we’ve filmed at LACMA, the Santa Monica Pier, the Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel, the Pacific Design Center and many more.

Q. You live in Los Angeles. What is your typical day?

A. When I am not filming a typical day will consist of working out (Pilates, running, hiking, dance class), auditions, meeting up with friends, writing in my journal, reading, singing lessons, playing my guitar and organizing my house.

Q. You also sing country music. What do you like most about country music?

A. Being from Mississippi, country music has always been in my blood. I love country music because in every song a story is being told and I think everyone can relate to the lyrics. Country music just makes you feel good.

Q. Do you have a favorite country singer then?

A. Wow, that’s a hard one. I don’t have just one favorite. But, if I have to pick Dolly Parton and George Strait would be my favs.

Q. Have you ever been to Italy?

A. I have never been to Italy but I am dying to go! That’s my next big trip for sure!

Q. What is your next project?

A. I just starred in the Lifetime TV thriller Deadly Matrimony and I am constantly filming ‘Sh%t Southern Women Say’ videos on YouTube. We have over 21 million views. Check us out at the ‘Southern Women Channel’ on YouTube!
