Tv / Interview - 06 December 2021
Chapelwaite is the horror TV series based on Stephen King's novel
Allegra Fulton has worked in theater, film and TV series. She played Frida Kahlo in Frida K. by Gloria Montero's, that toured North America playing New York Off- Broadway at Soho Rep. She starred in Oscar-winning film The Shape of Water by Guillermo Del Toro, Maps to the Stars by David Cronenberg, TV series Schitt's Creek, Suits, Fargo, Cardinal and the recent Chapelwaite.
In the TV series Chapelwaite you play Ann Morgan. Can you tell us about your character?
Ann Morgan is Rebecca Morgan’s mother (played by Emily Hampshire). She is a single mother , who brought up her daughter alone in the small town of Preachers’ Corners, Maine, after her husband left them when the child was still quite young. She runs the boarding house, and takes in extra money by sewing and mending. She is kind and accepting of peoples differences. But she is very concerned that her talented daughter is throwing away her best years and writing opportunities by becoming the Boone’s governess. Little does she know her daughter, whose writing talent she has encouraged, is looking for the best story she can find. And find it she does in the Boone’s haunted family. It’s lovely that the writers Jason and Peter Filardi, took such a modern take on these two women, for indeed, there were feminists in the 1850’s and they paved the way for us all.
