Interview with Marco Grazzini from the TV series Virgin River

Who is Marco Grazzini?

I would hope that my friends and family would say I am a kind-hearted, witty and conscientious person. I'm a little OCD and I love a good sense of humor, I am always on the hunt for a laugh. 

Do you see yourself in the role of Mike Valenzuela played in Virgin River, in the romantic relationship with the character of Brie Sheridan played by Zibby Allen?

Yes I do see a bit of myself in the relationship with Brie, the writers have been nice enough to mirror some of the ease and dynamic that already existed between Zibby and I, as we were good friends before the show.

If you had to explain the success of Virgin River, where would you start?

I think that Virgin River is successful because it always leads with it's heart. The small town nature of the show resonates with us at a primal level because we all yearn to feel in community. Mel & Jack, Preacher, Doc, Brie - everyone - feels like friends and family to the audience. Personally, what struck me the most is how relatable every character is. 

Since joining the cast in season two Mike has become one of the main characters in the plot, what can you anticipate for fans for season six?

I hope we'll get to explore more of Mike & Brie's relationship - I'm looking forward to seeing them evolve. They could be on the path towards a very happy life together. And hopefully Brady won't distract Brie while Mike is solving crime. Hopefully.

Is there a character familiar to you that you would like to play or would have liked to play in Virgin River among those created by the author of the novels Robyn Carr?

Charmaine, despite being a woman. To elaborate - if I could pick one other character to play on Virgin River it would be Charmaine.  I think it has been a very entertaining role, and would imagine it's a very fun role to play. Lauren Hammersley does a phenomenal job in bringing that character to life. I'm always attracted to characters in scripts that are full of life and have comedic elements to them.

What does actor Marco Grazzini have planned?

I just had a movie come out called "Betty's Bad Luck in Love" It was a very fun project to film and it was hilarious. Watch it if you can! 

Also we start shooting Virgin River season 6 quite soon so I am at the gym getting back into shape after the Christmas Holiday Buffet! It's been a while since I've played Mike so I'll have to refresh my memory a bit. I can't wait! It's been too long.
