Tv series 'Lost in Space', interview with actor Ajay Friese

Ajay Friese stars in the Legendary reboot of the Netflix hit TV series, Lost in Space, with season 2 hitting the platform on December 24, 2019. Friese plays Vijay Dhar, Victor's (Raza Jaffrey) son and Penny's (Mina Sundwall) love interest.

In Lost in Space, you play Vijay Dhar. Can you tell us about your character

Vijay is one of the colonists who gets stranded in outer space with the rest of the passengers on The Resolute. He’s the love interest and friend of Penny Robinson, and the son of the colony leader, Victor Dhar. My character and I are similar - Vijay’s quite sensitive and in touch with his emotion, and I like to think I am as well. It’s funny though, I’m quite a bit more goofy than Vijay and maybe not as shy or tentative. Also, Vijay’s dad is a stern, no-nonsense sort of guy, whereas my own dad is definitely a jokester who loves to be silly. I enjoy exploring how to downplay certain aspects of my personality while highlighting others. It’s the fun of acting – finding aspects of the character within yourself and shaping/combining them to create a totally new person.
