What is your favorite author?
So hard. I’ll throw a few out there. A Canadian who moved to California, Ross Macdonald is my favorite mystery writer and The Chill and The Blue Hammer are the two Macdonald novels I’ve read five or six times each. Others: Faulkner’s Light in August, Sherwood Anderson’s Winesburg Ohio, Chandler’s The Big Sleep, James Elroy’s American Tabloid, Julian Barnes A History of the World in Ten and a Half Chapters and anything by John LeCarre though especially A Perfect Spy.
