Starting from a theater in Puglia, what was it like to find yourself in the cast of Emily in Paris?

t’s been a long journey, a real rollercoaster of emotions—the same emotions I’ve recognized since the very moment I decided to become a professional actor. Whether it’s success or failure, the core ingredients are always the same: consistency, believing in yourself, and pushing forward, even when you’re filled with doubt.

Being here today is the result of that continued journey, and it’s fulfilling to realize that it’s not just about the destination but about embracing every step along the way. In this present moment, I feel grounded in that understanding.

What was it like to work with Lily Collins and Andrew Fleming, star and director of the TV series?

Working with Lily Collins was an absolute delight. I had the opportunity to collaborate with an actress who not only brings immense experience but also a high level of professionalism to every scene. We even improvised a few lines on set to ensure the dialogue felt more natural and the scene flowed seamlessly. It was a true testament to the collaborative spirit of filmmaking.

Director Andrew Fleming made me feel incredibly at ease throughout the shoot, which made the process fly by far too quickly. By the end of the morning, I found myself wishing we had more time—not just because it was such a fun experience, but also because being around such talented professionals is a constant learning opportunity. It’s moments like these that fuel my passion to keep growing as an artist.

What do you think made Emily in Paris such a success?

Emily in Paris resonates because it taps into our shared dreams of adventure and self-discovery. The show offers an escape into the beauty and charm of Paris, but beyond the stunning visuals, it connects with viewers on a human level. Emily’s journey reflects what so many of us face—stepping out of our comfort zones, navigating new challenges, and finding our voice in unfamiliar places. It’s that universal story of personal growth, wrapped in glamour, that keeps audiences coming back. It reminds us that growth can be both thrilling and messy, but always worth it.

Do you have a special anecdote or memory from your time in the cast of Emily in Paris that you would like to share with fans of the series?

When we were filming the scene for *Emily in Paris* where I show Emily her new apartment in Rome, it was one of those moments that you never forget. The camera crew decided to capture the scene with a drone, which was pretty cool. But as soon as the drone took off, we suddenly found ourselves surrounded by pigeons and seagulls! The birds must have thought the drone was some kind of invader, because they started swooping down, trying to attack it.

It all happened so fast—the birds were everywhere, and for a moment, there was a bit of panic. The crew was trying to save the drone while we were all just standing there, watching this unexpected chaos unfold. Luckily, no birds (or drones) were harmed in the making of that scene! It was definitely one of those funny behind-the-scenes moments that made the day even more memorable.

You came to the attention of the Italian TV audience by replacing George Clooney in a well-known commercial, it was 2011, from there to the cast of Emily in Paris, what does Yuri Buzzi expect for the future, what expectations or dreams do you have?

Stepping into George Clooney’s shoes in 2011 was a life changing experience, and it opened up so many doors and set me on a path I’m incredibly grateful for. Being part of “Emily in Paris” has been a thrilling chapter, but looking ahead, I feel ready for new challenges. My dream is to land a co-lead role in a romantic comedy series, where I can dive deeper into character development and really explore the layers of human relationships. I believe I’ve reached a point in my career where I’m ready for this step.

At the same time, I’m passionate about continuing my work as a communication and acting coach, helping others discover their voice and talents. For me, it’s not just about chasing success but growing, learning, and sharing that growth with others along the way.
